Roving Restorers

22.10.21  Roving Restorers had a great morning cutting Cat's claw creeper at Ian and Sally Mackay's property at Moy Pocket on Friday (22.10.21). Ian shared his method of managing the Cat's claw creeper and Madeira vine which are two of our most problematic weeds as they smother native vegetation causing mature trees to die and collapse. There's always something interesting to find in the forest and we enjoyed the discovery of a beautiful bird's nest and a rather alarmed spider. After weeding we strolled to take in the peace of the Mary River which flows through Ian's property and is home to the Mary River turtle. Some Roving Restorers bundled up the vines to weave into baskets. Thank you everyone for sharing your morning to help this precious environment.
